Africa has the world’s highest concentration of poverty, making it one of the most pressing global challenges today

Sub-Saharan Africa is home to the majority of the world’s multidimensionally poor, approximately (553 million) people, accounting for nearly half of the global total.

Poverty in the region is disproportionately concentrated in rural areas, where access to healthcare, education, and basic services remains severely limited.

According to the World Bank, about (464 million) people in Sub-Saharan Africa live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than ($2.15) per day, with progress in poverty reduction projected to remain slow due to low economic growth, rising debt levels, and persistent conflict.

Similarly, the United Nations reports that nearly two-thirds of the world’s extreme poor reside in Sub-Saharan Africa, facing acute deprivations in sanitation, housing, electricity, and overall living conditions.

In response to these challenges, VEF seeks to adopt a systematic approach focused on empowering and mentoring young individuals in various spheres through targeted skill acquisition programs.

These programs integrate creative, technological, and business skills to enable young individuals improve their livelihoods and economic resilience.

Through community outreach initiatives, VEF seeks to finance small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups, while establishing strong partnerships with training institutions to build capacity across various sector
